Every Spike It Pure coach has played at the professional, D1, or Open level and wants to help young athletes love the game. They know what it takes to build successful teams and help players get recruited to play in college. We have extensive connections with college coaches and help our athletes get to the next level.

Karen Gray
COACH

Karen Gray

Before joining Spike It Pure Volleyball, Karen helped start Tempe, AZ based Aspire VBC in 2008. Karen was club director for several years and was instrumental in becoming the first LOVB club. Along with her husband, Jonathan Gray, they began as associate owners of the club and Karen was recently the associate club director, head of volleyball operations and recruitment coordinator. Formally a coach at Mountain Pointe High School in Phoenix, AZ for nine years, Karen where she had been the varsity head coach for seven years and lead the 2017 team to the State 6A Finals. That same year Gray earned the AZ Central Big School Coach of the Year.

Jonathan Gray

Jonathan Gray

Jonathan has coached junior girls teams that qualified for USAV nationals in all age divisions (12s-18s), including more than fifteen 1st place finishes at national qualifier tournaments across the country. At USAV Nationals, Jonathan's teams finished as high as a 2nd place in 15 Open and 1st place in the 14 National. He has coached and developed 60+ Division 1 athletes of all positions: setters, liberos, opposites, middles and outsides. He has also helped many more athletes achieve their dreams of playing volleyball in college by being recruited to D2, D3, NAIA and junior colleges.

Mike Diehl

Mike Diehl

Professional Player | NCAA Champion | League MVP | Performance Coach Mike Diehl is a veteran volleyball coach with 16+ years of professional indoor and beach playing experience, competing in 22 countries at the sport's highest levels. With over 15 years of coaching experience, he delivers elite technical training, advanced game strategy and high-level athlete development. In addition to his volleyball expertise, Mike is NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) Certified and EFTI (Equinox Fitness Training Institute) Certified, providing athletes with a comprehensive approach to performance, strength, injury prevention and long-term athletic development.

Kendall Rohrer

Kendall Rohrer

Kendall Rohrer is a former NCAA Division I volleyball athlete, accomplished coach and leader with extensive experience developing competitive, confident and high-character athletes at the high school, club and collegiate levels. She is currently the Varsity head coach at Seton Catholic College Prep. Rohrer has built a strong reputation for elevating programs through technical development, competitive training and a player-first approach. Most recently, she served as Head Varsity Volleyball Coach at Woodland High School, where she helped transform the program, significantly increasing team win totals and guiding her athletes to district-level competition.
